It was a lovely morning at the Blackstone River and Canal ~ Heritage State Park ~ Riverbend ~ in Uxbridge Massachusetts. Last night we got 2" snow, it helped cover some of the ice,, which made it easier to take a walk. I believe the tracks I saw are from an Otter. We also stopped at Stanley Mills and took a short walk. There was a Turkey Vulture eating a dead Skunk. Turkey Vultures are not a Bird of Prey. They eat road kill. I know that this may be hard for some people to look at. Turkey Vultures tend to get a bad rap,,, they are an important part of the Food Chain. Blessings to the Skunk and Turkey Vulture. Last night I got a Ganesha Mala Beads at one of my favorite stores!!

  • @mdragon180 :) I wsa happy to get this necklace!! Thanks :) ♥

  • Oh wow! We have turkey vultures too. There is this old abandoned barn on one of the back roads here & a whole mess of them live there. There are at least 8 to 10 of them. We see them all the time as, unfortunately, there is alot of road kill on these back roads here. One day they were all out circling the cow pasture across the street from our development. Sad to say - I do believe a cow must of passed & they were all after it. But - it is good - because they do a big service by "cleaning up" :)

  • @mdragon180 WOW thats awesome you get to see so many Turkey Vultures.. I agree what you said about they do a great service!! I have seen the Turkey Vultures flying over head but have never in all my years of being outdoors on my nature walks seen one this close! Hugs and love to you dear friend!!
