Lyrics:
Emptiness, consuming me
Head in hands, I can hardly speak
Looking for solitude
Lost in humanity
True knowledge leads to suffering
A constant quest an endless dream
Searching for inner peace
Hidden so deep in me

Don't wanna be a hollow man
Ain't gonna be the hollow man

Sadness comes knocking constantly
Filling up my eyes, for all to see
Peace will come someday
I pray that it finds a way
Darkness caressing my mind and soul
My spirits rejecting, I'm feeling whole
Emptiness goes away
Fills with the light of day

Don't wanna be a hollow man
Ain't gonna be the hollow man

I rise up like the phoenix
from the ashes of an older way
With wisdom gained, I turn away
I turned away
Hollow man find yourself some other Plan

Don't wanna be a hollow man
Ain't gonna be the hollow man

  • WaT De SoNgS AbOuT???

  • well theres a movie called hollow man idk if thats wat its about

but im guessing its about a guy not wanting to be alone in his life and probably trying to be a somebody not a nobody

  • It's about Gandhi. The hollow man would be the one who finds within himself the feeling of rebelion, which would lead to the violent struggle. The "other way" mentioned in the end of the song would be the refusal to turn violent in the face of adversity, and the hole song is the progression of Gandhi's inner feelings towards the non-violent way of composition.

  • aaaahhhhhhhh

thank u for correcting me lol

  • I didn't mean it as a correction, lol. It was a complement, really. The idea of being something more than a regular man is strong, really, and I just noticed it after reading your comment. Tx for sharing these thoughts!

  • lol ya man cool

  • @Invirion huh? the ripper sounds more like the lead singer of dream theater in this song.

  • @jbeach05 matt did some recording for the album before he left so they added his vocals as background instead and got the Ripper

  • @chrispavlos Right and their song Dracula is about how america has a secret sect of politicians working on a way to make blood into a vitality potion so they can keep their age and get plastic surgery meaning there are only a hand full of real politicians and the rest are smoke and mirrors or the offspring of the other ones, and Abe Lincoln practiced the dark arts of sorcery

  • @Auberon009 ghandi is the biggest fraud. he wouldnt let his wife take a certain medication she needed and she died, but then he took antibiotics himself to survive.

  • This is one that should have had Barlow in it. Ripper's good at what he does, but the low, soulful tones belong to Matt.

    Shame.

  • Dude totally sounds like Layne Staley

  • @jbeach05 probably you are talking about Jon Schaffer.. i find their voices similar in low notes.. imo he does the backing vocals

  • amazing song. so strong and inspiring ... thx jon and for upload ;)
