SHOOTING: THE SPORT: THE FACTS is designed both for those inside the shooting community and those who have no experience of shooting all. It is hoped that shooters may show this film to their non-shooting friends and acquaintances, and also to persons of influence such as local councillors and MPs. The idea is that the shooting community itself can become the major means of transmission.

SHOOTING: THE SPORT: THE FACTS shows shooting as it really is, and makes the point that shooting is often misrepresented in the mainstream media. Most people have a distorted view of shooting from having seen firearms misuse in the news and popular entertainment. This production puts the record straight and shows shooting as it really is. More than a million ordinary, law abiding, and completely normal people in the UK use firearms for sport and their work.

Shooting is amazingly relaxing. More so than any other past time i have experienced.

I used to love spending a day or two on a lay on a range baking in the sun whilst concentrating on above most things my breathing.

For a stressed out teenager with a poor home it was a time when i could really relax and forget about my problems. I'd suggest it as therapy for any stressed out person.

Unfortunately i can't shoot anymore following a driving conviction which put me in prison :(

What is really sad is that people who don't shoot, don't seem to care about the rights of people that do these days - everyday our historic freedoms diminish - all our freedoms. Being able to shoot is, typically, a symptom/feature of a free society - it goes without say that in communist societies it was almost impossible to shoot if you were not a member of the party, similarly, Hitler banned private guns for the majority as soon as he could. If we don't fight for our rights we will lose them.

An absolute relaxing stress relieving sport. Plenty discipline and dedication. I am Full Bore shooter ..but I be very reluctant to shoot Birds!! Targets or clay pigeon are a wonderful experience which also needs a fair amount of skill..

Good video, although I dont agree with fox hunting, badger or grouse shooting as I doubt the conservation reasoning, I do however love firearms, air guns and target shooting and I agree with edible quarry hunting or lethal pest control if it is absolutely necessary. It would be great if someone made a video with working class shooters to show that not everyone has to wear tweed or country wear, and that working class people have as much right as anyone to legally enjoy firearms.

14; More people are killed in road accidents, will we ban cars or knives? Nope, not likely.

10; Why would anyone go the the time and trouble to gain a licence, just to commit crime? Far easier and cheaper to buy an illegal gun in a pub

11; If we didn't kill animals, vegetarians would have nothing to eat, would you really give your last carrot to a rabbit rather than your children?

5; I am an animal lover, I have pets of all descriptions, including rabbits, I don't like killing but it has to be done

6; Gun owners are not psychopathic killers

7; Shooting goes hand in hand with conservation, without shooting, many enviroments and animals would disappear

8; I could kill more people in one go driving my car down the footpath in the high street than I could with a gun

9; People who want to ban guns only see guns in films and news reports, ALL used by criminals

Facts about shooting in the UK....

1; Murders by legal gun owners are virtually non existent here

2; Foxs cannot eat enough rabbits to control them, rabbits are not native to the UK, the romans introduced them

3; Foxes mainly eat birds, frogs and small mammals, rabbits are very hard to catch

4; The police were against banning handguns, they said gun crime would treble, and it has actually quadrupled

@1matsg The world is moving towards total destruction - the Elite want WW3 with Europe, USA, Middle East, Pakistan, Iran, Russia and China. During this time Americans will lose all their rights. War is a quick and effective method of changing rules and regulations on earth. Life will become difficult, the world will become like what we see in science fiction films refering to the year 2029 AD, etc.

The Elite want to control the world and to destroy the human race.
