Dallas-Fort Worth area builders sold 11,196 homes in the third quarter of this year, an increase of nearly 7.5 percent from the previous year. The number of pre-owned houses on the market in North Texas grew in September -- up 4 percent to 41,594 homes listed for sale. The median sale price of pre-owned houses fell by 3 percent from a year ago to $134,900. Through the first nine months of 2004, there was no real change overall in local home prices.
