"We were trying to do something new. That's specifically why we chose electronics and embraced every new piece of equipment we could get our hands on or afford. We wanted to sweep away all of the old rock clichés and the stereotypes and the lead guitar solos and long hair and everything.

And then what happens towards the end of the eighties and, even worse, the mid-nineties? Everybody decides that guitars are back in, synthesisers are somehow old-fashioned—and you get Oasis! Horror!"

yes, i love omd i love NEU! i love Kraftwerk, and i love rock music as well (beatles,Who...) but i never understand why Oasis had such succes, they are or were nothing, just two brothers with plenty of silly proud, pretending being the new Beatles, i've always hated Oasis, there were much better bands of their generation like Blur or the refreshing Supergrass, much much better than Oasis, the shame of Manchester... cos i love Joy division, New order and the whole factory thing
