Paranormal Road Trip to the Allendale Train Tunnel in Elsmere, Kentucky

oh-craps.com takes you on another paranormal roadtrip, this time to the Haunted Allendale Train Tunnel in Elsmere, ky. Legend says that years ago, someone hung themselves on a hook that is mounted over the tunnel entrance. Now, his spirit is said to be seen walking the tunnel, or sometimes still hanging from the hook. There are also reports of disembodied voices and screams coming from the tunnels as well.

Ok, but why put hooks in both endings of the tunnel?They used to hang laterns or something?

I'm curious about the hooks myself, but lanterns is a good thought. We're still looking into the back story on this, and I'll let you know if we learn what the hooks were for.

i grew up here and have seen a few bodies come up from there and the hanging was on the other side, lot of weird things at dusk.

we all smoke weed there. there has never been a ghost. ive smoked there hundreds of times at like 3 AM and never have seen anything. almost got bit by a snake. but thats a story for another smoke sesh

hahaha hell ya if you walk up the side in the grass you can sit down where that hook is and we smoke up there and shit, that tunnel isnt scary at all

well those hooks were indeed used for lanterns when elsmere was a plantation. It was just a handfull of farms and plantation houses. Although this ghost story is not true, I can see why one would think so. Now, The truth of th allendale woods and tunnel area is that a house was burned down in those deep in those woods along time ago, There has been ghost sightings around that area but the allendale tunnels is nothing. Now, where the old house remains, a Rich asshole lives there now.....
