  • wtf is this one what consol it out on?

  • @micky6321 PC, PS2.

  • I don't get one thing. In SR2 there is a cutscene where Raziel puts Elder' God's role in creating him in doubt. He supposes that Elder God just "were simply there when he awakened from his torment in the Abyss" and tried to manipulate him to kill Kain. But here the Elder says: "Harvester of souls I created you...". So how is this in the end? Did Elder God create Raziel or not?

  • I don't think it's ever really confirmed one way or the other - the elder god definitely has the power to resurrect folks (see: Moebius, for example), and it's certainly feasible to assume that he created Raziel, but the game never tells us for sure.

  • I would doubt that the Elder God created Raziel, because if the God is as he says he is, and a beast which acts as the wheel of fate, remaking souls and feeding upon them again, then there is little reason to believe he would need Raziel to consume souls for him. Indeed if he did so require than Kain's control of the Soul Reaver, while no free incarnation of Raziel walks, would've effectively starved him.

  • The soul-devouring aspect of the Soul Reaver, however, *is* Raziel, so it's not beyond reason that the Elder God (assuming he is being truthful about creating Raziel) would be benefiting from every soul the Reaver took. But really, he didn't create Raziel (again, if we believe he did) to devour souls for him generally speaking, he created him to kill Kain and his vampire lackies - who were upsetting the Elder God's balance of lift -> death -> rebirth.

  • It's true that the sword would have no effect, but has anyone ever considered just poking him in the eye to piss him off? I've ALWAYS wanted to just poke him in the eye, say "yoink!" and run away laughing...

    Some day...

  • Also, too, notice the eye(s) of the Elder God, his pupil a figure 8, the symbol of infinity, cool hunh?

  • seconded..

  • @Brutalland He created Raziel as a SOUL REAVER. That is the only way he created him.

  • I think in the end the elder god was like some giant telepathic ancient multidimensional alien lifeform. Not a god.

  • "There's some grim satisfaction in infuriating you!"

I love how Raziel loves to piss of the Elder God.

  • Is this the Calvinist god?

  • "I can see into your heart, Raziel." That line always gives me a shiver. Such a fantastic voice that man had.
