According to Poject Bluebooks key UFO investigator Alan Hyneck, the air force could easily dismiss cases made by civilians but when it was a report from their own people it was harder to debunk them and said "there were all kinds of military reports of UFOs that were kept out of the newspapers." *Evidence was to be ignored and/ or kept from the public domain.
