  • I teach high school, I'm 49 and I play this each semester for my students. I give them the lyrics on paper. I hope that they will grasp the concept that we have much to do and little time. That we can achieve much, but we must work now. That we will realize starkly that we must pass the baton...

  • Best line in the world of spoken song, according to this wanna be musician "sadder still to have watched it die ,than never to have known it" .

  • ben mink only played w/rush once not much of this song live because of that

  • This music is timeless, and I can't thank enough my father who got me into Rush... I've being a fan for good 10 years or so. Most of of my friends or people I know only know a bit or nothing at all about Rush. The scariest thing is that all of them are Canadians and I wasn't even born there... So Canadian people don't even know their rown good music . What's happening with our society, people, a massive musical degeneration and a submission to current low quality pop culture? I'm in tears....

  • one of my fav alumbs

  • @GutsyguyPrime same here, I'm a sophomore though

  • @sheracad Well said ,

I know a few that (like me) know computers (MCSE (plus others) for 20 years+ consultants) ie BS and higher with Microsoft's Cert and the first thing I see is the "Tats"on their arms. Sorry but I do.

To get by me (with the tats) you need to know you're shit..... Life is hard.. Then U fish...

  • @dehsah Neil Peart the opus to life!

  • @mrnonsense1031 You need to listen to "red sector A"

  • Mystudents lookat mepuzzled,"What could we once see?" I tellthem, "You're 17 now, when youwere 6 yousaid that youwere going tobe a ballerina,an astronaut, or fireman, or President. But life, MEDIA, and closed minds have whittled away atyour dreams and leftyou in suvival mode- with nodreams or lofty goals.

(I look at the pierced, tattooed 17 year old girl and sigh..let's get you back to the wonder and possibility of your life, and not the blinders put on by those who never sought their own muse.)

  • for some odd reason, this song makes me think about the end of the world. nuclear war in particullar.
