he gets better and better .. i'm in love.

maybe he is onto something though. and we are all here. left to figure it out? maybe music is about a bit more than structure? or content? perhaps is just about happenstance sensory input. pop clearly has conditioned some minds.

@lovesGenet wow that's unusual for a negro to like this type of music.. usually you go for rap. Really admire you for it, though to be honest not sure why you are pointing out that you are a 'negro' so emphatically.. to me it doesn't make a difference buddy.

OK, I guess they do. Just wanted to say as much as I have loved David's music, like nostalgia, orpheus and anything with sakamoto, I find this album very adolescent and without creativity. I think he needs a foil, like sakamoto or whoever raised his game in nine horses, to balance his disposition toward melancholy

why is slow or ruminative always construed as sad. This aint sad. It aint Japan and it aint duran duran. He just talking about life. Americans and brits are so simple minded. Im negro so there. Pop music bores me mostly. But he was a cutie whoite boy a long time ago and he still writes compelling MUSIC!

Manafon's a masterpiece - I've never heard anything like it. It's full of the kind of incidental detail that rewards only the most attentive listener. The way that certain sounds are manipulated is absolutely fascinating - a very deliberate and measured approach to capturing an atmosphere. It's one of the most absolute approaches to songwriting I've ever heard - everything acts in service to the song itself... Nothing seems to be necessary.
