Part 1 of 2.

Using a program Microsoft programmers released some years back, called Bootvis, you can visually see how long it takes your Windows XP system to start. Thus the term Bootvis or Boot Visualization. This program can also be used to help optimize your startup time. However, there are steps you need to take in order to obtain the best results.

This is Part 1 of 2 tutorials. Which deals with preparing, downloading and installing Bootvis. Along with a first time run through of the process.

Bootvis can be downloaded from several locations. I chose http://www.majorgeeks.com to obtain the install file.

  • @MrTritran I agree. Thanks for commenting.

  • Hey I'm currently using the latest version of Bootvis however it doesn't record boot activity, resume activity or process creates even though they are highlighted as default. Have you got any ideas as to how to get it to work?

  • @webbadger08 Hi. Do you have the task scheduler service running? That should be on for Bootvis to work. Just a thought and hope you can get it working.

    Thanks for commenting.

  • Thanks for your tutorial! I love you man! (Although I'm a man)... O.o

  • @midfingr Hi I just looked and the task scheduler is running. I did some research and apparently not all the features work in Bootvis with newer graphics cards. It's unusual though because I first used Bootvis 4 months back and all of the features were working properly.
