From J Waters' Pub in Grange, as part of the Celtic Fringe Festival, this clip is from a webcast streamed on www.LiveTrad.com on Friday June 24 2011. Featuring Michael Rooney on harp and June McCormack on flute, with Marcelo, a Galician percussionist, playing the pandero. The tunes names are 'McGivney's Favourite' and The Bird's Hornpipe'.

  • eek. Great except for yer man on the tambourine. Wish he had the common sense to leave well enough alone!

  • @PipersGrip Far too few musicians in sessions tell these guys where to put their unwanted percussion . Michael and June have a perfect inbuilt rythm already there without him. I recently received an extremely abusive response when I posted a Yoytube comment saying that there was NO place for spoons in traditional music. It is almost politically incorrect to ask these interlopers not to join in a session they are not invited into.

  • @SandythePiper Couldn't agree more. I have seen a few of these nice tunes ruined by percussion.
