  • @frugable I must say that is not true. Similar to chocolate; despite common belief, it's "toxicity" is no where near serious enough to kill if not in extremely copious amounts (at LEAST several pounds.)

    I have worked with owners whose dogs have gotten into entire boxes of chocolates around the holidays, as well as my own 20lb Jack Russell terrier who has eaten those small boxes of raisins numerous times with absolutely no complications- more than 9, for sure.

  • For an average sized shar pei (~55lb), it would take about 2.5oz of raisins for the dog to experience acute renal failure. Takes about 9 for it to become toxic.

    But hey, dogs are really just for our own entertainment value while we push their physical boundaries, right?

    heard they can be poisonous if eaten in enuff quantity
