All he has to do is be sober and listen? Its not hard.
I don't have to "DO" anything. I'm on the internet. I'm not obligated to help this guy understand the song. Straight Edge is my choice. I don't care to explain it to him or try to convince him.
Fuck off. I don't think of Straight Edge as some sort of elitist religion. If you want him to understand so badly then explain it to him. I'm not some poster child for the scene.

Oh boy, straight edge arrogance at its finest. Try to think outside the box, read between the lines, if his comment wasnt an troll attempt you can see that he is interested in the lifestyle and does want to know how it makes you guys live a "better" life. "If you don't hear/see it you're not worth it" is sometimes a fucked up attitude in such situations. Some people need other people to see such things, that's it.
