This is raw footage from my Countour ROAM helmet camera taken 27 (Correction on 28 Feb it was the 26th January 2012- data cross referenced with GPS data stream) January 2012 at about 4:30pm
Watch closely as a moron on a wave runner/jetski rides straight at me. The rule is easy: Sail over power- and they must remain 50 metres from craft like mine)
I was sailing from Elwood (Head St) out towards Williamstown for the entire session due to the wind being South/South East. See the data track here: http://app.strava.com/windsurfs/3619251
As you can see, my course hardly varies at all for the entire 33km session. The only times I vary were at the start and end of session.
This idiot could have gone south to the area between Head st and North Road, but instead chose to perform blind manoeuvres right on our sailing line.
The nature of the Contour Camera makes this near hit look further away than it was. He was less thasn a second from a head on. 95kgs of me + 15 kilos of sailing gear vs a waverunner with two people aboard is a no brainer. I am dead.
EXCUSE THE LANGUAGE but I was almost killed by a f$#@ing idiot.
I have later footage where I sail back in with another mate who had seen the incident. I then catch up with the guy and tell him to ride elsewhere. He has NO idea what he's just done either.
@pecheur23 It was 33km out-and-return runs at my local beach. No more than 1.5km offshore. The video was near the outer limit of my runs. And who needs petrol when you can get wind for free and still crack 60km/h?

33km in a straight line and didn't get to burn a single drop of petrol? I think you are the crazy one.
