Actually early bobbers where just that. G.I.s returning from WWII wanted their american bikes to mimic the lighter, cleaner european bikes. So the front fender was removed, back bobbed, some other unessentials removed. You don't need to go all out to have a bobbed motorcycle, it's just more fun that way.
