1993 240sx 248/248 ka24de cam swap

video i shot to show the idle with open hotshot header. had to show off the lope at idle. ka has intake and exhaust as well as butterfly valves removed

ok ive done more reserch i noe wats the 3teeth ccw but some people say turn the cam gear but the cam gear only spins with the camshaft and other people say the timingchain so that confused me... i just wanna make sure i dont mess my motor up...so wen i put the cam in spin the cam twards the passenger side 3 teeth and thats it?

what i hate about this motor is when people put the words "truck motor" in the same sentence with ka24, nissan put the ka in the car first! the z24i was kept in the trucks till 90-91, ka had been used in the 240 2years already! phew... sry had to rant

@wisseistscharz well i did say truck motor feeling though lol. its a well known fact that the ka is designed around torque. the bore and stroke, intake manifold runners and cam duration all make it obvious. they dont make power in high revs and thats now what im looking for out of this car. if i want a bunch of low end torque id drive a truck lol

how is the drivablity?? is the low end still have the ka torque or it shifted?

@cool12291 i never noticed a loss in low end torque but i havent driven a stock ka in a long time to even compare it to. but either way imo its worth a little loss in low end to get the ka24de pulling in higher revs. i hate the stock truck motor feeling of this particular engine

@stunt509 yeah it changes your powerband around and adds minimal hp in different spots over the rev range. plus it makes it sound nasty at idle. best cheeap mod ive done to the car.
