Yakuza sells like hot cakes in Japan, Shenmue didn't. Hell, for that matter, Sega had to be heavily pressured to release Yakuza 3 in the US and Europe due to the poor sales of the first two games in the west.

how can they not make shenmue 3 when they've made yakuza 1,2,3, and 4 and those games were freaking AMAZING and I'm sure they cost alot more money to make than shenmue i mean think about it the yakuza series story is just like a high budget movie

You seriously telling me that people cannot make a game where all you do is walk around collecting information and fighting people?

Alot of people keep saying that the production cost of the game was really high, which leads some (including people at Sega it seems) to believe it will not be profitable to make Shenmue 3.

What people ignore are all of the technological advancements since the Dreamcast era. Sure it may have been very difficult to pull Shenmue off during THOSE days, but in this day and age technology has advanced to the point that remaking Shenmue 1 and 2 shouldn't be a problem.
