  • Artie was the man!

Oh, how I loved listening to his swing as a teen (and this is in 1975!)

Needless to say, i was not popular with my peers (i knew Rock music too), but i didn't care: Artie Shaw rocks!!

Thank - you SO much SwingMan for what you are doing!

  • You bet, scot. :)

If you're interested, in addition to what I've got on my uploads list of Artie's singles, take a look in my playlists & you'll find a couple of Artie Shaw features in there as well. :)

Totally feel ya with the peers - been a fan of Artie since age 13 myself. ;)

  • Am going right to the playlists! and thanks, SwingMan1937.....

I sometimes actually feel as if i had lived in that era before - but the Church gets the willies about such things - so i just shut up and enjoy the music - lol - scott

  • You're very welcome, scott - glad you're digging the cuts. :)

  • Lovely..

  • Well, he did have 8 wives, so..... ;)

  • Multiple times, even. LOL

  • LOL! Right on, JC. ;)

And Artie lives on through it. :)

  • "Comes a rain storm, put your rubbers on your feet. Comes a snow storm, put your rubbers on your feet. Comes L-O-O-VE......... PUT YOUR RUBBERS ON YOUR FEET!!!!

( How some trad jazz band friends would end their gig, singing this parody ) LOL

  • I so happen to have the first press 78's of both "Deep Purple" and "Frenesi", tA - I'll get those two up on my next series of uploads. :)

Speaking of "Frenesi", I'm uploading, as I type, 2 Shaw cuts from the same recording session that spawned "Frenesi": they're "Don't Fall Asleep" and "Gloomy Sunday", both sides of Victor 26563.

Glad you enjoyed this, tA - I've got every single 78 Artie recorded for Bluebird, so if there's another Shaw/Forrest cut you'd like to hear, just let me know. :)
