Tony Sargent of MyNewYorkTV captures the energy and essence of the Hetrick-Martin Institute's 2009 Emery Awards Dinner, held in New York City, Nov. 10th 2009 at Cipriani's Wall Street. This star studded event was a huge success raising over $120,000 at the event itself. Host Kimora Lee Simmons introduced such luminaries as Victor Garber, NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Grammy Award singer, Jennifer Holliday and others. Highlights of the evening included a moving video montage (captured here) where student designers from HMI had the opportunity to work with designers from Polo Ralph Lauren to bring their own personal designs into reality. The resulting dresses were fantastic! Additionally Dustin Lance Black (Screenwriter of "Milk" ) spoke poignantly of his experience growing up. Hear Jennifer Holliday sing.
