This is the mini operational evaluation of our Barns & Noble Nook eBook reader. This will show the basics of our use of our Nook. We currently have over 1,500 public domain ebooks aboard Guenevere, our Nor'Sea 27 sail boat. By using ebooks, we are never without ample reading material.

  • 2 question about nook:

    1 - when i read can i turn-off the color-screen?

2 - i can change size of the font only in the epub, or also in the pdf format?

    thanks

    bye bye

  • @pietrod1221

#1. The color screen goes off after a set amount of time (I set the amount) automatically.

#2. In most, NOT ALL, PDF documents I can change the size of the type.

Note, I have updated to the new op-system and it's very good. You can even surf the web with it.

  • @delezynski thanks you for the answer, but for set the amount of time you doesn't have to hack or do nothing (i say this because you have say "I set the amount" and not "YOU set the amount")

and how is possible that only some pdf are resized, what the discriminating?!?!

thanks a lot for the answer, and excuse my very bad english...XD

  • @pietrod1221

Setting the time out for the color screen is done in the setup menu, it's not a hack.

Not ALL PDF files are the same. Some made by some systems will not let the data be changed at all. Others allow for change. If you have a file that can not be changed and you must make the print larger, change it using the free Calibre program, (GREAT for ANY ebook reader!!).

  • actually you swipe in the touch screen, I saw you trying to swipe it on the middle part where the "n" button lies...

  • @jankrix

I can swipe in both places. If the touch screen is light up (showing menus or ?), you can not swipe there for a page turn, but you can swipe the "n" area if you want to. Or use the side buttons. Once the touch screen goes dark, you can use that area.
