Conservatives go on and on and on and on and on about their "principles". Ideology never saved anybody. Only common sense and smart solutions do. Ronald Regan as great as he was, shared the same approval ratings as Obama does now at one point in his term. He was forced to compromise on some his positions. Both FDR and RR were great for their times. Conservatives may be right on many issues, but not all issues.

And quit blaming moderates for Republicans losing the last 2 cycles. They lost in 2006 because of the neocons and people woke up to the fascist agendas of the Bush admin.
They lost in 2008 because the public was so fed up with G W Bush and neocons that they were determined to NOT elect another republican and chose someone with little experience.

Spoke too soon, this was a huge embarrassment for the Republican party. Goes to show the far right needs to move back to the center, kick Palin and Beck out of the spectrum, they're ruining any chances Republicans have to balance out the Democrats.
