  • My son was diagnosed with moderate to severe autism at 2 and we were told he would never speak. He's now 7, in mainstream school, in the right class for his age and we cannot keep him quiet :). His Teacher says he is her best pupil. If anyone out there needs some help/advice/chat, please get in touch...Kevin.

  • Nice video. I have asperger syndrome myself. I wish my parents were caring and understanding like the parents in this video. My parents just make me want to kill myself.

  • I'm an autistic, thank you so very very much for this video!

Btw I prefer to be refered to as an 'autistic' over 'person with autism', it feels to me that often when people use the latter they do so to be polite, but I don't want to be seen as a diseased "normal" person, I wanna be accepted for who I am.

It's like the difference between refering to a 'person suffering from homosexuality' instead of 'homosexual' in an attempt to be polite, if that makes any sense.

  • Start with some love patience and understanding, and a Fantastic Swing! So great to see such positive-minded parents. Don't write your kid off (right-on Grandpa).

  • thanks for posting this!
