hey just got the same bike, can you give me the specs on the type of drill bit... depth of the holes and if there have been any negative effects to the bike? Any other things you needed to mod? Sounds great by the way!!!! Beautiful color... i got the grey one.

Drill bit started small for pilot hole then ended up with 1/2 inch. When I did the mod, I only went through the first plate and the cone in the front. The cone is what shows in the second part of the video showing all 4 holes. You will see what I mean when you do it. The stage two goes deeper into the pipe. There were no negative effects to the bike. It just makes the bike breathe a little better and gives it a better engine lop. Enjoy and keep the shiny side up!!

Sounds great!
No need to re-jet?

Nope. No rejet at all. The engine is still using the same exhaust so the restriction is still the same. If you go to stage 3 where you go through all the plates I think you need to rejet. Im not too sure. The stage one sounds great when you get on it. Not too loud, not too soft. Enjoy and ride safe.

I've owned both and after throwing thousands away to own the dream bike, I bought a Road Star and I ride for thousands less and with less headaches. It takes most Harley owners two walk arounds before they realize it's a Yamaha. I like them both, but Harley is just stupid crazy on priceing and the RoadStar is a better value for the money.

I agree I love both as well. RS for customization and price but harley for overall design.
