After finishing their "time" in nursery, those two adorable special needs kittens became the lobby cats at Morgaine's Place. Shake, a black and white boy who has CH (Cerebellar Hypoplasia) and Marti, a gray and white girl who came to us with a severe eye infection which made her blind. They are both about 6 months old. Marti was going to move to another building but since they're about the same age, we're hoping they become friends and be able to play together and they did! Shake probably has the most mild case of CH I've ever seen here at Best Friends. He could be a tiny bit stiff looking but he has no trouble running, jumping and wrestling with Marti. Marti had some kind of infections behind her eyes but the treatment seems like working so far. As you can see, her left eye now looks like a normal eye although she can't see very well. Nothing stops those two curious cutie pies. When Marti first came out to the lobby, she climbed up on the top of tall cat tree (about 5 feet tall) by herself and made two of her mama caregivers very worried because she was ready to jump down from there anytime. Shake follows his mama caregivers from his nursery like a faithful dog. He learned to wrestle with Marti but he often forgets Marti is a girl who can only wrestle with a boy for so long and rather be treated like a princess.

It's wonderful to see the blind cat play like any other cat.
