Mitsubishi Mighty Max engine noise

some epic engine tick, i hope its valve related but its been on and off for a couple months now, now it constantly makes the noise usually at cold idle it is at 750rpms now its at 1000 constantly, truck runs fine, accell is good and it starts all the time
any opinions before i open her up?
recent oil change of 10-40 maxlife, (a week ago) 280000 miles engine rebuild around 200000
tick disappears at 3000 rpm but returns when at idle and again it comes and goes

it pains me to watch this video.I Put some straight 60 weight oil in(super thick stuff) and the tickin disappeared. I plan on replacing all the lifters soon.

mine got a little better when i tightened the loose spark plug and i put some 5w-20 oil in, but the ticking is still there slightly

try the lighter oil and see if it gets better if it doesnt then its probably an exhaust leak because my truck has that too and it also sounds like valve tick

LIFTERS! I had the same problem in mine, just take the valve cover off, and take the rockers off and replace ALL the lifters, verry easy job if you know what your doing.

does anyone know where to get a water pump pulley for a 94 mighty max? mine broke and now my truck isn't running. the battery won't charge and the radiator fan won't run and there is no coolant flowing through because of it. if anyone could help i'd really appreciate it!!

@yzracer273 hey man, i have a problem. i have the same truck,, 2.4 and i replaced the plugs and wires and now it runs like junk. i may have misplaced the spark wires on the distributor. can you please tell me from urs which wire goes where? thanks
