I'd say a large scale deployment of a technology that demonstrates it isn't fit for large scale deployment as a big sign that it isn't suitable for my large scale deployment.... this guy seems to be a bit of a douche and doesn't really want to address the problems in his own software and instead pass them off as the user's incompetence.

Seriously, I wanted to hear more as well, but the Chicago Park dude came over and shut us down. We'll finish the interview in the next month or so. I was going to ask him questions about Django, people using Rails for genetics, and other things.
