I got this video in the 80s and I watched it over and over and over again. I also do not double thumb thump (nothing against it) and I found this video to be very helpful+entertaining. I suppose I am a "traditional" slapper.
This remains one of the best bass instructional dvds I've ever purchased. It might not contain anything about the double thumb but for traditional slapping, this is the book to get!
I bought this on VHS back in the 80's (or was it the 90's...can't remmber!) - think I may have even ran into him once at Guitar Center in Springfield NJ years later...looked like him, and had that same relaxed playing style as him...who knows...
