What if we told you there was something you could do that would give your baby a better metabolism for life? And what it this thing also helped your baby learn to love healthy foods. How much would you pay for this thing? How hard would you be willing to work for this special something? What if we told you it was easy and it didn't need to cost a dime?

  • What an asinine video.

  • This is great! I do wish your video gave more specific examples about what to give babies as their first food. To simply say, "whole grains" is a little vague. While I had no trouble coming up with good alternatives to refined rice cereal for my twins (now 18 months), many, many parents out there might not even know where to begin. But in general, great message, great video. I'll be passing it along.

  • @CarolHarnett That's great news, Carol! Those are powerful vehicles for change. Here's another short piece on the campaign from yesterday that you (and they) might like. I talk, a bit, about what's actually in the cereal. abcnews.go.com/health/video/white-white-rice-cereal-12227710

  • @nataliehodge1 Thanks, Natalie! This is such an ingrained habit in our culture. I'm working on a series of pieces to answer the objections I've heard and could imagine. There's very good data about how taste preferences develop, the health effects of too much processed white flour, and about what we've been feeding. You're right that we need to be gathering data going forward... This is going to be a great ride!

  • I viewed your video after seeing Natalie Hodge's post. I love the initiative you're proposing and will pass your video through my circle - employer-sponsored benefits and health/wellness leaders. Carol Harnett

  • Thanks Alan, I'm in... I'll repost this in the AAP networking group today... ( and everywhere else) start thinking about objections parents will have... " allergies" etc... we need to get some data on this... Best, Natalie
