Rossif documentary L'Arbre de vie Vangelis improvisation

clip from very rare Rossif document of Vangelis himself from 1980. Vangelis is really the only one of his kind. He have such a great talent just having very natural need to express himself with keyboards and he can make such accurate and very emotional improvisations without any preparations. Vangelis himself said that the key for his music is not to think because though is a tool of analysis and not a tool for creations, so improvising without mind and thoughts and using only direct emotions, his music is more closer to the truth.

Naturally the result is that he's able to do great music every single day, so obviously only fractions of his music will end up for commercial media or records.

And this is the way he create music even today!

I still wonder why and when Vangelis left his Yamaha CP80 (or CP70b) electric grand piano without any use. It's such an expressive instrument and have it's own character unlike even today's electronic pianos. The main reason is that it's really electro-acoustic piano (from 1975!) with real strings and hammers and not sample based.

sorry, I have been hunting this video for long time too... I have the only one complete video available, but even that is corrupted. The video contains less than half video... meaning there is something like blank parts between viewable parts. But I have the complete bootleg cd-r, so it may be better if I would replace it's audio.
