After four months of renovation the Garfield Park Branch of The Indianapolis Public Library, formerly known as Shelby Branch, reopened to the public on November 3, 2011. Numerous service and design features utilizing green initiatives allow the branch to be known as the Green Library in the Park. Renovation was made possible by a grant from the Allen Whitehill Clowes Charitable Foundation thru The Indianapolis Public Library Foundation.
