Terrorists are responsible for a relatively small number of deaths in the last century when compared to unbridled state power. Why should we trust the state with such power, given the history?
The reason it has never happened in the US is because we don't give our government undue authority.
Hey buddy... Reading and understanding the constitution would be a very important prerequisite to supporting and defending it against all enemies, foreign and domestic.
