This morning Sybase recorded second quarter 2009 earnings revenue of $278 million dollars, which was $5 million dollars above analysts consensus and earnings per share of 56 cents, which is 4 cents above street consensus, and represents 16% growth year over year. I am here with John Chen, Chairman, President and CEO of Sybase. First John let me congratulate you on another record quarter, this is the seventh in a row now, and this is all coming in this current economic environment. Now you have a number of record achievements, operating margins, earnings and cash flow, and you have also delivered double digit growth in a number of areas and this is in this environment where companies are finding it hard to grow. So beyond the record achievements, and beyond the areas of growth, what would you highlight as your key takeaways in your quarters performance? I think that there are a lot of things that are working for the company but before I go there lets talk about a macro solution. The ITs spending is obviously challenging, the economic environment, you know is really soft, we have had seen some very strong growth in the US, as compared to a year ago, weve seen some reasonable growth in the Asia Pacific, as compared to a year ago but Europe, as we expected, has been challenging. Things that work for us are the analytics database proved to work very well, we can discuss why later, and the home mobility messaging, especially where is it related to the mobile commerce. Now these initiatives have all been working. Its the same story. Its all been working for the last six or seven quarters but, weve have had very good breakthroughs in terms of partnerships, in terms of technology, I think it set us up very well going forward. Youve mentioned that in North America you have seen some good growth, but we have also seen very good growth and performance from Sybase for seven quarters now in a row and this is coming in periods where North America was not as healthy, so how has Sybase been able to grow though that period and overall what is working for the company? So our messaging technology, although there are ups and downs in that business segment given the economic environment, but its been trending up, reasonably quite nicely. Mobile middleware is starting to become a big part of the future and it is coming along pretty well. Database, weve had this IQ technology, which very much focused on analytics. That has been the grower and it has been pretty much the grower around the world for the last sixth or seventh quarter. I would like to shift us now over to mobility; Sybase for a number of years has been making a big push in this area. Now everybody has heard of Blackberries and IPhones, so how does Sybase fit into the mobile world? From an enterprise perspective all these devices whether it is IPhone, the Google Androids technology, the Windows Mobile, The Rim, Blackberry of the World, we want them to be able to mange the same way. It looks pretty much the same to the enterprise, maybe different from the end users and that technology which is kind of the mobile application server, you might say, thats a huge technology and is a growing area so that is very encouraging and that is one area. The other area that we spend a lot of time on is the is your whole how does enterprise use mobility as in messaging, as in mobile commerce, and some of the new features that these new headsets are bringing, location dependence, some born intelligence, so that combination has been our main focus. All of them have made tremendous progress in the quarter, I will just name a couple, we have Western Union accepting us into their eco system as a mobile wallet payment systems and the government is using a lot of these technologies for anything from citizen alerts, to 911 emergency, school transportation, airline, airports, so you find a way to use messaging for everyones day to day life. And then on the mobile middleware side
