My number 1 favourite of all my projects and I doubt it will ever be beaten by anything else I could possibly produce...

A short film concentrating on 5 suicides. Our largest production for any short film to date. It was filmed over a three week period with a cinema-scope ratio and a superb score written especially for the film by Rolf Meyer, a very talented film composer.

This would be my submission to a film competition this year if I was to compete. I'm very proud of the DVD copy that has been mastered, although the upload infringes the broadcast quality somewhat. Choosing the HQ option helps a little.

If this film saves just one life then it has certainly been worth the work put in by all involved.

I'd like to put out an extra thanks to resident actor, colleague and close friend Eddie Butler for writing such a wonderful script. I told him briefly what the film was going to be about and he crafted a masterpiece narration.

WARNING: Contains graphic images of suicide, please do not view if easily offended.

  • Very nice editing and camera work. Curious about the score: Maybe a slower more somber theme would have been more congruent with the suicide scenes. Then possibly mix that uplifting score in about 2:05 where we see hope taking over disparity and finally she resolves that "...life goes on." My apologies for being so forward with my suggestion and no offense to your artistic vision. Just my take on an overall well produced film that was deeply touching and very poignant.

  • Yes, a slower and more somber theme would have been the usual way to go with a film like this. However I instructed Rolf Meyer to compose something uplifting from start to finish so that the film didn't sound like all the rest. The suicides are more disturbing whilst your tapping your foot too!
