So who would win, a Tennis Player, a Squash Player or a Badminton Player? Bearing in mind that they all use rackets in their sport. Or am I not comparing like with like? Just as you aren't!

That is simply true :)

sz332 Im probably taking you down memory lane replying to you after you posted so long.
But lets face it most of the Traditional martial arts cant cut it on the streets. Certainly not without substantial modification.

what is that language.I think it is Russian but I hear some latin base word like Dem-o-tra-ta and malo

Cane de Combat is a game. Le cane is the Martial Art.

Good to point that out. The defense aspect is taught alot actually in France and even a bit in the the U.S. if you look for that. I enjoy both aspects, cenne de combat is fun and pretty and defense is a nasty and effective system with historical roots of my people.

This looks pretty impressive. I really like the athletic part of the fighting. Do you have more videos or a website of this?

Just to make the things clear. What you can see first, is a sportitive combat sport. It's movements are designed for elegance, distance, safety and speed, not power. Canne de combat is not designed for fight on the streets (there is one part of it, canne défense, that is about self defense, but it's a small part), but to fight using some kind of rules, to beat the opponet (and not enemy) with points. It's rapid, elegant, sportitive, athletic, and so. But not street fighting.
I practiced kali and canne de combat is for my opinion more sofisticated and efficient method....but of course this is only my point of view.
