The SOG Twitch II is the middle sized brother in the Twitch series of knives. Bolstering a 2.68" AUS-8 steel straight edge blade, it is ideally sized for everyday tasks. With SOG's S.A.T. assisted opening mechanism, it is fast, easy, and fun to use. The problem for me lies in the thick, heavy(yet sturdy), satin handle. For the size of the blade, I expect a lighter, textured grip allowing me to feel more comfortable about carrying it around.

Overall a great knife for a collector or someone in need of a small folder that can handle everyday tasks, but with the heavy handle, lack of thumb traction, and handles that are too smooth for heavy action, this won't be my knife of choice to carry.

  • Great review man! I really like that music in the intro as well.

  • @bankmind80 Thanks, I wish I could just edit out certain parts and redo it. Being my first review, there's a lot of things I can do better now and I'm much more knowledgeable about it! Oh well..

  • You're exactly right, opening it with the thumb opening knob, it's very hard to open using the thumb knob. Also, the pocket clip holder is so tight once on the pocket it damn near takes two hands to get the knife off and wears out the cloth material. Otherwise a great knife and well worth the money. Your camera work at the end showing the safety was great! I find the safety closing on its own so that needs to be tighter. Took a large screwdriver and loosened the pocket-clip a little works great!

  • @hilocomtoot The camera I used for this review was actually a Nikon DSLR, so in video mode, I was able to manually focus it so I could hold the knife really close. That also explains why the audio wasn't great quality. I have never had any issues with the safety closing on its own, mine seems to be nice and tight. I never mess with it though, because I'm content with it off.

  • @StormForceTac Hard to beat a Nikon and their Nikkor lenses, great job you did. The safety issue has just happened a couple of times it was locked when I keep it unlocked all the time. My TwitchII is 3 years old so maybe its just loosened up a bit. Still great knives and wonderful soft steel so they'll stay sharp. I've got mine like a razor and it stays that way b/c of the softer steel. The best homemade knives are made from old files used to sharpen scissors. Thanks for your post & the quality!

  • @hilocomtoot Thank you, I appreciate it! I have to say, I'm always trying to better myself, this was my first review and now that I have more experience in front of the camera, the quality of the reviews are only getting better!
