great video! i work in a machine shop and was curious if youve ever tried to make a bat on an engine lathe with automatic feed. would i have to to feed the tools by hand? i dont have any wood lathe tools however i have unlimited access to all other kinds of metal cutting tools. after watching your video you have givin me a great idea to make a bat as a gift to my stepson for his birthday. any feedback would be so appreciated and thanks for sharing.

Hi,
I used Ash but I would go with Maple if I do another. You can find the blanks at Woodcraft. They make a lot of carbide cutters for gouges so I think you could find a metal cutter that will work.
Good Luck,
Carl
