sorry to say but your attitude is shitty, most people that are on the bench want to be on the bench; and your right just because your non union doesn't mean you not a craftsman. I can walk on a job and tell what trades are union just by the quality of work. I'm a union pipefitter; I've had 2 weeks sittin on the bench in the past 6 years. That welder sittin could possibly be cuz of lack of work in that area due to the cut-throat underbidding nonunion contractors.

The United States is called that for a reason and it was also mostly built by unions; grant it, not every union member is perfect at what they do. If it wasn't for unions, most of you non-union hands would still be gettin slave wages with no overtime, no holiday pay, no breaks, no safe work environment, no safety at all and many, many other things that you may overlook. Best move I ever made was stepping away from the (New Zealand) union environment, Unions don't provide all those great conditions, they ride in on the back of prosperity. Here's a test for unproductive union bureaurats, visit some third world country and start spreading all those condtions around, can't be done, they aren't there to spread, and the union isn't going to magic them out of thin air. Unions do nothing but suck off the productive.

@KAICHIAPET wow! lol there are def a few bad apples in every group union does have its beni's the only real complaint ive had is alot of union workers work alot harder at doing nothing than if they would just do the task at hand,and they get pissed if you out work them,,ive been in autoworkers and iron workers unions,,alot of problems today is poiled ppl with that sence of entitlement but i have nothig bad to say about the origeonal unions,,we got spoiled in the 80s and 90s
