I usually don't have a lot of time to video tape when I am running trains. So I bought a pocket camera, that fits in my top pocket of my bibs. Canon SD750 / 7.1 mega pixels. I wish I was more careful holding the camera in this video, It sounds like the mike in the camera hit my hand once and a while, making a thump sound. It is hard to hold a camera steady when operating at track speed. I wanted to catch the cab sounds when working the grade and accomplished this in this video.

Top video!!! I love any videos of the steam on WRR!!! All fantastic both cab and lineside. Been a while since you last posted, have been keeping my eye open for any new clips and you haven't disappointed - Great stuff, great footage and great clarity of video. What video camera are you using to film these clips?
Awesome video as always. Sounds like the engineer's side cylinder valve is leaking. Could be that the camera doesn't pickup all the sounds that well though. Great to see some cab shots of the 801 while it's running. Totally a rare.

You could be hearing the exhaust port on the cylinders.

We had a ten car train with work caboose, loaded fully with passengers. In the beginning of the video, we are drifting down grade through the Ozark Mountain Tunnel. The rest of the video was filmed working up grade, which is 2% for several miles with curves.

@WhiskeyRR nice, like my dad always says a steam locomotive sounds better when it's got a heavy train behind it.

The 801 always sounds good coming up the grade, light or heavy train. It always has a lot of good sounding stack talk.
