Early 19th century music for guitar and fiddle by recording artists Thom Howard and Tom Verdot, Play Pretty Productions, Columbia, MO
Tom Verdot's inventive sparkling lead fiddle, accompanied by Thom Howard's energetic fingerstyle guitar forms the basis of their concerts. They have been known to include vintage banjos and mandolins as well. In other venues, Thom and Tom perform swing concerts and dances, living history events and traditional American fiddle music for dances, re-enactments, and historic commemoration events. They've taken their music to Brussels for a concert of early swing fiddle at the national Musical Instruments Museum, and they perform around the US and in Europe as a duo and with the classic string band The Skirtlifters.
The log church is a volunteer effort reconstruction of the 1791 original Borromeo parish church, built of vertically placed cedar logs. Funds are needed for landscaping, which will include native MO plants, stone wall and cedar fence. Funds are also needed for display cases inside the church and two permanent signs outside the church. The church is located in the 400 block of South Main in St. Charles, MO.
