UNDP Gaza: Deprived Families Economic Empowerment Programme

The Deprived Families Economic Empowerment Programme (DEEP) is a US$30 million path-breaking pilot programme, implemented by UNDP, for chronically poor and hard-hit families in the occupied Palestinian territory. The DEEP modality merges promotional safety net activities with microfinance services to create a pathway for poor families to graduate from poverty. The DEEP modality is unique as it uses a family-centered approach that gives families the chance to talk and decide about the best means for them to make progress towards economic independence.
