guys, try to instal again the video card on pci express 16x, they are heavy so put an support to hold the vga without forcing the pci express 16x slot.....i have
vsyn = aplication controled
screen tearing is gone on desktop, only in games but vsync on make disapear...

@wagwag9 sucks man. it cud be the monitor indeed. my old card was a gtx280, vsync forced off as well, everything ran smoothly, no complaints, except i had power issues with it, so i had to change it.
-
@s1kb45trd i agree with you...i have gtx570 power edition, OC, screen tearing in Red Orchestra 2, Team Fortress 2, BF3...that sucks...vsync solved but makes the game diferent, worst to aim...i buy this card to increase fps, now i have to decrease with vsync....my video card is defective?? some say that is an issue with refresh from the monitor wich is 60hertz = 60fps to run smooth without teaaring....60fps = sucks.....
my old card, ecs gtx460, never show any "tearing" with vsync forced off...

oh yeah, i am using a Radeon HD 6870 Gigabyte graphics card

@ontariotl I am still having these issues even with the latest drivers :/ what I don't understand is that if it is because of the drivers, why isnt everyone having these issues? It took me a while to even find that others were having this issue...
-
i'm having this issue whilst gaming. a lot of them are tearing (bioshock, half life 2, FEAR), not badly but still noticeable. using my 6870 on one 22 inch lcd monitor, the only way to fix it is for me to turn on vsync which makes it feel sluggish
-
@boredtotears001 yep same here @ HD6870 please let me know if there is a fix!
-
I'm having the same issue but in portrait mode so the tearing is vertical. It makes games look horrible.

"Watch as the screen makes a ripsaw motion, watch closely now children. There! you see the hideousness of the image it creates." That's what the crockodile hunter would say today if he saw this vid and was into computers, that's a huge if....lol :D
Hey i was wondering if you still get this issue? I still do and was hoping you found a fix, or if i just have to rma this card.

Actually the new Catalyst drivers 10.1 and now 10.2 correct this issue. Try the new drivers and let me know if it fixes your issue.

Thanks for the tip. I tried it, and it does work if I fiddle around with extended and then back to eyefinity. I do notice tearing on games still though paritcularly middle monitor bottom half. ATI really has some work to do with these drivers.
