How the West Was Won (Dedicated to USMC wives and girlfriends)

This song was written by my roommate Erinn Peet-Lukes in June 2009. While my boyfriend attended Marine Corps boot camp at Parris Island, she began writing letters to a lonely recruit and they ended up becoming very close. Although Erinn's experience with her recruit was radically different from me and my boyfriend's, we still were able to relate to each other on a level that people who didn't go through the boot camp experience didn't understand. There is something special about someone you careabout going through such a unique experience that unites everyone involved, no matter what situation they are in.

This song is dedicated to all of the wives and girlfriends of marines who stay strong every day supporting their boys in the service.
