In the 13th Century, the Mongols take Baghdad destroying the Abassid Caliphate. The Caliph was aparently wrapped in a carpet and kicked to death. Did Saddam Hussein ever fear such a fate?

  • @TenderTrap86 Your analogy is bullshit. It makes you look very silly you keep bringing it up.

Not all the Mongols converted. Islam is nowhere to be seen in Mongolia. Mongolia is where the Mongols originated from.

  • @TheLagunaSunrise Where is the Templ of Zeus in Athens? Where is Christianity in Istanbul?

I was saying "who cares" in reagrds to many of the comments I saw talking about how awesome it was for the Mongols to beat up on Muslims, when the Mongols became Muslim, themselves.later on. Obviously, they have no grasp of history.

Mongol was broad term, at the time. Just like one can be Asian, but not Chinese.

  • @TenderTrap86 It SPELLED the end of the so-called 'golden age of Islam'. Do you know what that means? Evidently not. There was no way the caliphate could recover from this. I did NOT disagree, I simply said 'where is Islam now in Mongolia?'. The Mongols came from what is now 'Mongolia'. Islam is nowhere to be seen in Mongolia. Not all the Mongols converted. For you to say "who cares?" in regards to the destruction of Baghdad is laughable. Baghdad lied in RUINS for CENTURIES after. Who cares? LOL

  • @TheLagunaSunrise Don't give me psuedo-intellectual casuistry. Yes, the Sack of Baghdad was a huge contributing factor, but it wasn't the end of the era. History shows us that empires dissipate over years, rather than evaporating overnight.

My first comment was about how the Mongols converted to Islam, and you disagreed. You're very ignorant. There is no hisorian in the world who would say that the Mongols didn;t convert to Islam. It's a verifiable, documented fact. Period. End of story.

  • @TenderTrap86 I never said anything about a "screeching halt". The sack of Baghdad did spell the end of the so-called 'golden age of Islam', though. You obviously don't know the impact this had on the Muslim world. You're very ignorant.

  • @TheLagunaSunrise The Golden Age of Islam did not come to a screeching halt because of the fall of Baghdad. The Islamic Golden Age was too great an era to be defined by city limits, alone. I argue that this era continued on, although, not with the same veracity.

Where is the Temple of Zeus, now, in Athens? Where is Christianity in Istanbul, now?

  • @TenderTrap86 The so-called 'golden age of Islam' came to an end because of the sack of Baghdad. Baghdad lied in complete ruins for centuries after. And you ask "who cares?" LMAO

The Mongols accepted Islam... and where is Islam now in Mongolia? LOL

  • @TheLagunaSunrise - "the sack of Baghdad is what caused the END of the so-called 'Islamic golden age'" -

No. That's actually the date people like to put on it. Rome was sacked in 476, but historians will agree that 476 wasn't the end of the Classical Antiquity. That era ended during the Herclian Dynasty.

As already stated, the Mongols accepted Islam. Baghdad was sacked, however the Islamic Golden Age, limping, still carried onwards, until 1492; the Muslims finally got kicked out of Spain.

  • @TenderTrap86 Your analogy is as weak as Muhammad's will power to not rape little Jewish girls.

  • @TheLagunaSunrise - " The Mongols came from what is now known as 'Mongolia'. Where is Islam in Mongolia now?" -

The Greeks came from what is now known as Greece. Where is the Temple of Zeus in Greece now?
