Alanworks Studio continual study in surrealism, the images from the subconscious, the images of a photo-shoot, all free of the restraints implemented by reason and social convention take flight.
Alan's approach and subsequent rejection of the 'product shoot' in favor of atmospheric tableaux and suggestions of narrative, creates another question in the long line of the Feminine Spirit.
Alan is not alone in demystifying the study of images and movement as he takes the most radical approach to his compositions. The photographs of Alan Miller need not be an elaboration of a safe, prescribed fantasy. Alan emphasized sensuality over sexuality, empowerment over violence, as well as the rejection or the artificiality of social norms.
