World Culture Festival 2011 - The great Tibetan singer Soname Yangchen 1

Soname brings the ancient culture of Tibet to the modern world via the sound of her music as she communicates this powerfully from her own experiences. Through her music Soname returns home to Tibet. Steeped in tradition, her songs hold the stillness of memory, harmonizing the old with the new, the past with the present, and loss with possibility. As singer, composer and writer she uses spirited, free-flowing lyrics and sounds to reflect on her lost homeland. The haunting passion of Soname's performance reflects the joy and beauty of the Tibetan landscape and spiritual attunement, enchanting audiences on every level. Soname is working with the charity Roter Lotus. Roter Lotus aims to set up a hospital in India.
