Truly beautiful song...'I take the finite risk of trusting like a child'....I first heard this song as a child, on vinyl, sung by The Bill Gaither Trio...The harmony by the Vocal band is sublime...this song means more to me now than ever!

Today, again, I'm there; help thou my unbelief.

Very touching. We've all been there, or will, at some point. Faith is a choice, not a feeling. Very beautifully sung.

Even in the midst of doubts and fears, of "losing that special feeling," we will still step out in faith, based on the promise of Christ Our King: "I will never leave you nor forsake you..."
Whether I "feel" Him there or not is not the question. The question is will I continue in my faith, based on the promises of God, through Christ Jesus.
The answer, for me, is YES! No matter what, I WILL hold His Hand.

this song is credited to stuart hamblen but his wife wrote it

@844jim We as Christians are still only "mere mortals" living on an earth where we "feel" and experience the bitter with the sweet....witness the good and the evil....etc....... FAITH is knowing where we are headed when we cross over where we no longer have to "feel" anything in essence. I understand what you are saying but daily, I experience a multitude of feelings........I, personally, tragically have never felt that "warmness" others know. Wasn't even held as a child nor spoken to.....

I believe the christian faith is 100%believing & feeling the love of GOD=) hence HIS promises are yours to claim & keep...!!!

Beautiful!

"I long so much to feel the warmth that others seem to know; but should I never feel a thing, I claim Him even so..."
The Christian Faith is not about feeling, it's about claiming the promises of scripture.

in my humble opinion, i've found it's both. however, that's what bill is saying. "should i never feel a thing I claim him even so"
great song.

hey melissa, I believe the lyrics are just slightly incorrect. I believe this verse goes like this, "I'd take the finite risk of trusting like a child"
