I don't think the stones know what the song, " Sweet Virginia ", does to people when they listen to it. For me, it takes me on this journey where I have never been before or ever will be, unless I am listening to the song. It just takes me away and fills my soul with deep memory of the real me.

Honestly, this song for me is what music is all about. A privately social search for collective perfection. I love this song the same as the overture to the Thieving Magpie or Mozart's 39th or Ella singing Summertime or Nina Simone singing Tomorrow is My Turn. This is the same as Bowie singing Five Years or Chopin's Nocturne. Music is a quest for a single perfect moment and this song is one of those that capture such rarity, Like most of the best the Stones had several such songs.

Argue all you want about this album and that. Bicker and pontificate all you can. Those of us with half a brain could care less. This song is brilliant/marvelous/brilliant/superb/wonderful/superlative/splendid/mystical/magical/masterful/defining/clever/breathtaking/a masterpiece... blah blah blah.... this song is perfect. Bach couldn't do better. This is music as refined and clear as Mozart or Miles or any other bemused musician could make. This song is PERFECTION. Go ahead look for a flaw

totally agree. I like a wide range of music, but this is the best album ever made. I particularly love Sweet Virginia and never tire of it for over 40 years.
