Ask the companies in the market what vision means to them and they'll shrug their shoulders because vision is the real unknown management tool today. This happens because there are no structured or proven visioning methodologies or frameworks available. The main problem most of the companies have is that they spend little time in the visioning part of the strategic process and focus mostly on the short term.

Corporate Vision is the most essential component in strategic planning If the vision is weak, the entire company will be at risk. Many companies treat their Vision as a mere statement. There are even services that provide with ready-made mission statements to add to the company's website.
