@TCFan25 unrequited love doesn't eally measure up compared to really having something special with someone and then watching it fall apart in your hands and/or having to let it go. There's so much to deal with. That's my experience anyway.

@TCFan25 really? unrequitted love is hard, but you can move on more easily because there are no memories of love and sharing and being together. In a relationship (especially a long-term one), a big part of your life and a lot of your energy went into something that can be no more. you beat yourself up about it, you worry about your ex and if they will ever be the same, you're out of step for a while and have a lot of issues, and problems to resolve. Plus you have all the good memories together.
